Can I adjust the guide opening position on an enclosed reel?

Adjusting the guide opening position allows you to rotate the enclosure so the hose exits in the direction you need — for example, to align with ceiling, wall, or side mounting.

This improves hose routing and reduces unnecessary bending or strain on the hose.

Adjust Guide Opening Position — Step-by-Step

For Series 5000 Reels

Steps:

  1. Pull the hose out of the guide opening and latch the reel so it stays extended.
  2. Remove the four nyloc nuts from the reel cover.
  3. Take the cover off and rotate the enclosure to your desired position.
  4. Reinstall the cover and tighten the four nyloc nuts.

Tips for Best Results

  • Latch the hose fully before starting — this prevents the reel from retracting while you work.
  • Hand-tighten the nuts first, then torque them down evenly so the enclosure sits flush.
  • Check that the hose feeds smoothly through the new guide position.
