First, identify what will run through the reel: air, water, oil, grease, fuel, DEF, gas, hydraulic fluid, welding gas, spray, or electrical power and lighting. With a UL-listed reel, you can pull out only the length you need rather than unwinding the entire cord to prevent overheating. Check the product tag or packaging for the UL-listed logo.
